So today, I decided to test the waters with a harmless little prank on my girl — just to see how she’d react. We spend almost every day together, so the idea of not seeing each other even for one day already sounds weird. That’s why I thought it’d be funny to drop a casual, “Alright, I’ll see you tomorrow,” right as I was about to leave… and then wait for the fireworks.
The moment I said it, she froze. You could literally see her brain processing what I just said. “Tomorrow?” she asked, narrowing her eyes like I’d just confessed a crime. I tried to play it cool, like it was totally normal. “Yeah, I’ve got a lot to do, so I’ll catch you tomorrow.”
Big mistake — or big success, depending on how you see it.
She instantly went into interrogation mode. “Wait, wait, wait. Tomorrow? What do you mean tomorrow? Where are you going? Who are you seeing?” I couldn’t help but laugh inside, but I kept a straight face. Her expression went from confused to slightly offended, then suspicious.
Eventually, I cracked and told her it was a prank. Her reaction? Half-relieved, half-annoyed. “You’re not funny,” she said, while trying not to smile. But I know deep down, she was happy I wasn’t going anywhere.
Moral of the story: don’t mess with a girl’s expectations when she’s used to having you around 24/7 — unless you’re ready for the consequences (and maybe sleeping on the couch 😅). Still, totally worth it for the laugh and the look on her face!
